This has started out to be another exciting year
here in the youth department of Faith Baptist Church. During our first
quarter we have seen souls saved, a young man surrender to preach the
gospel, and tremendous spiritual and numerical growth within our Youth
Department. On Sunday morning we are going through the book of The
Revelation and on Wednesday Nights we are going through a series of
messages about tracing the footsteps of those great men and women
recorded in the Word of God. Our Wednesday night messages are helping
us develop Biblical character traits which will enable us to “Walk in
the Light” of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are also in the middle of a 9 week
Sunday school campaign called “The Battle of the Genders.” This campaign
is a competition between the boys and the girls in our youth
department. Each team receives points for attendance, bringing their
Bible, inviting guest, giving offering, and a weekly competition. We
started this competition the first Sunday in March and will conclude
this contest the last Sunday in April. At the end of March, the boys
had a slight lead after finally winning their first competition. The
first three weeks were dominated by the Ladies. Our goal is to promote
faithfulness to the services, outreach, benevolence, unity, and
furtherance. My prayer is that this competition will help jump start
our Youth Department as we head towards the summer months.
This next quarter will be filled with
many activities, services, outreach, fun, but most importantly the
effort to see more souls saved and lives changed for the cause of
Christ. We desire to see God continue to work in the lives of our Youth
here at FBC. If you are a teenager who are looking for a church home,
or you are yearning to be apart of a group of young people who have an
overwhelming desire to see God work in their lives, please come visit
us. You are more than welcome. Come see a group of young people whose
focus is God, whose direction in life is to walk with God, and whose
goal in life is to see more come to the saving knowledge of the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Colossians 3:17
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name
of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. |
